Henley Regatta

Henley Royal Regatta...

The Henley Royal Regatta dates back to 1839 and WM Events were on site during the summer of 2017 building the infrastructure for the 2017 Regatta.

Working alongside Arena Structures, WM Events were instrumental in the Project Management and construction of all the temporary structures for the Stewards Enclosure along the banks of the river Thames. We also built the structures in the Regatta Enclosure down stream of the Stewards Enclosure.

On site for 4 months, Stuart Wood over-saw the whole build and dismantle with a team of up to 35 people at peak times, to create the unique Stewards Enclosure.

Officials, Stewards, Members and guest follow the rules for dress code and conduct to be part of and enjoy the Henley Royal Regatta

Having over 100 years’ experience, within the team working at the Regatta, we have the knowledge and skill base to create bars, restaurants, galleries, offices and much more, in what is a grass field the other 8 months of the year. Stuart has worked on 25 Regattas and David Moynes 32, but Stuarts father, Roy, has work on over 45. WM Events has a wealth of knowledge and experience with the Regatta and it is part of our lives.

With a Boat Tent that covers over 5,400m² full of competitors’ boats, a 2,000m² Dining Tent serving lunches several times a day, there is a total of over 14,300m² of structures throughout the whole site.

WM built the temporary structures, laid the carpets, built all the interior walls, installed linings and then fitted out over 120 toilets cubicles throughout the site. Over 26km of 75mm x 50mm timber is used under the floors and in the interior walls, along with aluminium structures and grandstands, the project is truly varied with what is required.

We have team of tent erectors, interior fit out teams, carpet layers, and a plumbing team all supervised by us on a day to day basis, to maintain a controlled site at all times.

To be involved with one of the most iconic and traditional events in the UK, is a privilege that all of us at WM cherish and enjoy.

Here’s to the next 100 years of The Henley Royal Regatta.
