Temporary School Facility - Dining Room...

WM Events were asked to fit out a temporary structure that was going to be in place for at least 2 years and used as a multi-purpose area.

The school’s existing dining room was to be demolished to make way for a new one, so the temporary area could be used as a dining room, a dance hall and a meeting place.

We had to build a temporary interior fit out but to last over 2 years, with the added factor of meeting the Local Authority Building Regulations with materials and construction.

We started to build a timber stud frame to allow insulation to be fixed in place and the support for the boarded walls.

The structures windows were boxed around, along with the heating and cooling pipework and ducting.

Fire rated boards where placed on the timber stud frames to enclose the cavity and insulation.

An insulation and vapour barrier was installed to help stop any damage due to condensation to the final ceiling.

This also helped reduce any light from entering the area through the temporary structures roof sheets.

A high quality material ceiling was then installed using a framework to support it.

The material is stretched to create a tight flat look which is a great final finish.

The final look for the room was complete with a mirrored wall for use for lessons and folding chairs and tables for dinner time.

We were also asked to install a toilet area within a structure, which we carried out using a toilet door and wall system to meet the required regulations. A plain white colour scheme was chosen for the toilet cubicles.

Access panels were put in place so plumbing pipework can be serviced or repaired if required.

A certain style of sink was required by the school, so we sourced these and installed wall mounted taps. The electric hand dryers where also put in place, with many options available for these.

We also built the exterior entrance steps and handrails to the desired design. Any style of floor deck or handrail can be accommodated.
